JMI WorkshopsThe Justice Management Institute provides a range of challenging judicial branch education programs and workshops. The Justice Management Institute (JMI) would like to become a partner with you in meeting your educational needs over the next few years. As a partner, JMI will work with you to obtain maximum value from your education resources by bringing relevant, specifically-tailored programs to your state or court. Current trends are increasing the need for court management education. Over the next several years the loss of key judges and personnel, especially the "baby boomers," means education on core court management topics must be continually revisited. The increasing complexity of cases means that judges and court managers must be kept up-to-date on the newest approaches to caseflow management. In addition, the emergence of collaborative justice concepts means that key personnel must have a broad understanding of how programs, such as drug courts, can support the successful rehabilitation of offenders. More than likely your funding and available training resources have been reduced in recent years, making your spending decisions even more critical. As you are well aware, one of the major costs of doing high quality educational programs is the initial development of the curriculum and materials. For more than 12 years JMI has developed a wide variety of judicial branch education programs that are now available to you. JMI can collaborate with you to build from established curricula and tailor the programs to meet local needs, thus providing the highest quality educational experience and helping you leverage the most value from your limited education dollars. JMI is also happy to work with you to obtain credit for your participants towards the Michigan State University Judicial Administration Program. At the bottom of this page, you will find links to programs JMI is ready to deliver. You can forward the relevant program description to staff members or committee chairs responsible for educational programs. These programs can be delivered in a variety of formats, such as:
